PiBlock 4 analog outputs

The PiBlock 4AO provides the user with 4 analog outputs for the voltage range 0 ... 10VDC .

The internal gain of the D/A converter is set to 2. With an internal reference of 2.5V, the output voltage at the D/A converter is 0 ... 5V. The outputs are separated from the D/A converter via an operational amplifier circuit. With this circuit, the signal adaptation is also carried out. The adjustment has a ratio of 1: 2, i.e. at 5V at the output of the D/A converter, there are 10V at the output of the PiBlock.

The converter has a resolution of 10 bits. The D/A converter is addressed via a 4-wire interface. This works according to the SPI principle. The user can choose between 3 chip select signals. Thus max. 3 PiBlock 4AO modules, i.e. 12 analog outputs can be operated on the Raspberry Pi. The number of outputs is reduced if different PiBlock modules (e.g. PiBlock 4AI) are used with the 4-wire interface.
